Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How far in advance should I schedule the transport of my vehicle?
A. We request that you schedule your move as soon as possible to insure that your car is moved within the time frame which best meets your schedule; however, if an immediate pick up is necessary, we can arrange for your vehicle to be picked up within 24 hours.

Q. How do I prepare my vehicle?
A. Please have no more that 1/2 tank of fuel, remove all personal items from your vehicle, repair any chips and/or cracks in your windows, and make sure your vehicle is prepared for changing weather conditions.

Q. What about insurance coverage?
A. The carrier transporting your vehicle will provide you with insurance. This insurance covers all damages caused by accidents while the vehicle is being loaded, major changes in the vehicle’s condition, and unforeseeable damage that is a result of mishandling by the carrier.

Q. How long does it take?
A. Delivery of your vehicle will take anywhere from the same day to 14 days. All cars are being loaded either on a car carrier or a truck along with other cars. Below are some basic ideas to help you along the way. East Coast to West Coast – approx. 7-14 days Midwest to East Coast – approx. 5-8 days South to North – approx. 5-8 days All shipping times are estimated and should not be considered as guarantees.

Q. What forms of payment are accepted?
A. Cash, cahier check, money orders, visa and master cards will be accepted. No personal checks and no business checks will be accepted. Payment must be arranged prior to pick up.

Q. What should the customer do if the vehicle arrives with damage?
A. Make sure that you let the driver know that the damage is new and were not on original bill of loading. All damages should be marked and noted clearly and let the driver sign off on them. The next step is to contact the carrier transporting your vehicle and let them know as soon as possible. Some carriers have a day limit so make sure you do it right away.

Q. Will my car go to a terminal?
A. It depends on what day your vehicle is scheduled for pickup and delivery. If the carrier cannot pickup/deliver your vehicle(s) due to scheduling conflicts, inaccessible areas or both. All terminals used are secured, licensed, and fully insured.

Q. Does my car have to be in working condition?
A. Some Auto Transporters offer to move cars aren’t running, others do not. Make sure the car shippers you communicate with know the condition of your vehicle.

Q. Will I be charged by size?
A. Most likely transporting large SUV’s will cost extra. Some SUV’s are so large that they equal the weight and size of two cars!

Q. What if I am not there for the delivery of my vehicle?
A. If you are not at the agreed place of delivery to accept your vehicle the carrier will find a local terminal to store your vehicle. Please remember that these storage costs will be at your expense and are not included in the quote price so try to be there to accept your vehicle .
